Acupuncture: Can it reverse stroke damage?

(OCTOBER, 2002) Researchers from several major medical schools are conducting a pilot study to see if they can pinpoint whether acupuncture can help stroke patients. This study will be conducted by researchers at:

  • The New England School of Acupuncture
  • Massachusetts General Hospital
  • Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital
  • Harvard Medical School
  • Harvard School of Public Health.

Both computerized imaging of gait and limb movements and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain will be used as evaluation methods.

"This study will look at a number of clinically driven questions about how effective acupuncture can be in reducing some physical impairments, removing functional limitations and enhancing the quality of life in patients," says principal investigator Dr. Peter Wayne, director of the acupuncture school.

Stroke: the nation's leading killer

It's estimated that some 750,000 Americans will have a first or reoccurring stroke every year. That translates to about one stroke every 45 seconds. Stroke is now the leading cause of adult disability.

What you can do now for prevention and support

In the meantime, if you or someone you love is affected by a stroke, I would recommend strengthening the vascular system with whole food supplements. Please call me and ask for a FREE mini-consultation with NO obligation. Call TOLL FREE 1-866-942-6848.

Consider a full health evaluation

Because these supplements are so targeted, they are distributed only be health professionals so it is necessary for me to evaluate your health before I can recommend which ones and how much you need.

There are four evaluations to choose from. One costs only about the price of an average lunch and can give you a good snapshot of your overall health and areas where you are challenged.

For more information or to see if you or your loved one specifically needs these supplements, please contact me TOLL FREE at 1-866-942-6848 Pacific Standard Time. I then will give you the individual schedule and suggested program description of what to take. You may then decide to take any or all of them. There is no obligation. It is not a diagnosis, prescription or a cure. It is completely confidential and is information that comes from my knowledge and 20 years of expertise in the field of nutrition where I have helped thousands of people achieve a better level of health.
